Quality of Service White Paper
The CSIA newsletter announces a white paper that explains how the MQTT Quality of Service (QoS) options are not adequate across a large, sophisticated Industrial IoT system. The paper discusses how MQTT was designed over 20 years ago to move data from remote devices and applications to a central location in a single hop. It examines the three OoS options in detail, and gives the reasons why none of them meet the requirements for a robust Industrial IoT backbone protocol. A higher standard is needed. This white paper discusses a more stringent yet flexible standard, guaranteed consistency of data, something altogether different from MQTT QoS.
