OPC UA works well on the plant network. But it cannot ensure the complete isolation of that plant network when connecting to the IIoT.
Although MQTT is being actively promoted for the Industrial IoT, 3 drawbacks raise questions about its suitability for many IIoT systems and scenarios.
Often faster than TCP, UDP works well for VOIP and has been suggested as an IIoT protocol. But does it satisfy industrial requirements?
