Andrew S. Thomas, P.Eng, MASc
Andrew Thomas is the CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors of Skkynet. From May 1995 to the present, Andrew has been the founder, President and CEO of Cogent Real-Time Systems, Inc. our wholly-owned subsidiary. Prior to his work at Cogent, Andrew was an independent process control consultant and systems integrator and software developer of real time data communications systems. Andrew’s qualifications to serve as a director of Skkynet consist of his experience in our products and services development and strategic planning, and his broad, fundamental understanding of the business drivers affecting the company.
Norman Evans, CA
Norman Evans is the Chief Financial Officer of Cipher Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Canadian publicly-listed pharmaceutical company. Norm is also a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of business experience. Prior to his work at Cipher, from 1996 to 2006, Mr. Evans was Vice-President of Finance at MDS Pharma Services, a pharmaceutical services company, and prior thereto was a Partner at Ernst & Young Inc. Norm received a B.Sc. from Concordia University and received his Canadian Chartered Accountant designation in 1980. Norm’s qualifications to serve as a director of Skkynet consist of his experience in conducting audits, financial reporting for public companies, and corporate governance.
Kenneth W. Jennings
Ken Jennings is Vice President of Kinesis Identity Security System Inc., a software security company. Prior to his work at Kinesis, from 1991 to 2009, Ken held senior roles including VP of Manufacturer Solutions & Consulting, VP of Marketing, and VP of Sales at ADP Dealer Services, a division of ADP Inc., the payroll outsourcing company. Ken’s qualifications to serve as a director of Skkynet consist of over 30 years of experience in business development, strategy and in leading business-to-business software sales and marketing teams.
John X. Adiletta
John Adiletta is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Somerset International Group, a U.S. holding company that acquires security-related products and services that has been in operation since 2004. As principal of PCS Management Group since its founding in 1993, John has hands on experience in mergers and acquisitions as they pertain to telecommunications, data carriers and related suppliers. John has also served on boards of directors for technology companies in various capacities including as a member of audit and corporate governance committees.
Paul Benford, MASc
Paul Benford is the Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Skkynet. From 1995 to the present, Paul has been the Business Manager of Cogent. Prior to his work at Cogent, from 1992 through 1995, Paul was an independent process control consultant and an applications engineer. Paul received a Master of Applied Science in Mineral Process Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 1993, and a B.Eng. with honors from the Camborne School of Mines in Cornwall, United Kingdom in 1990. Paul’s qualifications to serve as a director of Skkynet consist of his experience in the fields of strategies of customer development and forms of communication with a variety of corporate constituencies in the industries within which we operate.
Paul E. Thomas, JD, MASc
Paul Thomas is the President, Secretary and Director of Skkynet. Paul is also Vice President of Intellectual Property for Cogent. From September 2008 to the present, Paul has been the founder and principal of a group of affiliated companies, LifeCycle IP Management, Inc. and LifeCycle Capital Partners, Inc. that are engaged in various IP related businesses including valuations, due diligence, transactions analysis and structuring, strategic partnering and filing and processing IP applications to regulatory authorities. Prior to this, Paul served as lead in-house IP counsel to two pharmaceutical companies, and also practiced in prominent IP litigation firms appearing before the Canadian Federal Court of Appeal. Paul is a registered U.S. patent agent and a Canadian registered patent and trademark agent. Paul’s qualifications to serve as a director of Skkynet consist of his experience in fund raising activities for developing companies, public and private, and proper planning for IP development and protection of our products and services.
Minoru "Mickey" Yamazaki
Mickey Yamazaki has been advising Cogent Real-Time Systems and established the Cogent DataHub Application Centre in Osaka, Japan in 2012. Prior to his work with Cogent, Mickey was President of LantroniX (Japan) and VP, Asia Operations of LantroniX USA, a company that develops communication hardware for embedded systems. Prior to LantroniX, Mickey was Executive Vice President and a director of AI Corp., a company providing marketing, development and engineering services for embedded systems software. Mickey brings to Skkynet a wealth of knowledge and experience in business development and marketing, having also held various senior positions such as general manager of the wireless data division of Nippon Motorola, president of Toyo Microsystems, a technology distributor in Tokyo, Japan and senior sales manager of Marubun Corp., where he established their Silicon Valley subsidiary.
Dr. José M. Fernandez, Eng, Ph.D
Dr. José Fernandez is Associate Professor, Department of Computer & Software Engineering at the École Polytechnique de Montréal. José is an active researcher in computer security for Internet applications and SCADA systems, intrusion detection systems, malicious software and botnets, evaluation and testing of security products, trust management systems and privacy protection on the Internet. José has over 50 publications to his credit, and is an invaluable asset to ensuring the integrity of the Skkynet’s Secure Cloud System™. José holds degrees in mathematics and computer science and engineering from MIT, University of Toronto and University of Montreal.
Mike Thomas, P.Eng, CET
Mike Thomas is Senior Director, Product Development at Noesis Energy Inc., an online platform to help energy market participants improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. Prior to his work at Noesis, Mike was founder and President of two companies in the energy conservation space. Managing Energy Inc. was web-based software-as-a-service to help building professionals manage and conserve energy. Efficiency Engineering Inc. is an engineering consulting firm specializing in mechanical and electrical installations in buildings, particularly automated control systems. He successfully sold both companies, and brings a unique blend of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and start-up experience. Mike is active in promoting and managing health, sanitation, and education initiatives in Haiti, Tanzania, and Guatemala.
