SkkyHub™ FAQ
What is SkkyHub?
Skkynet’s SkkyHub™ is a subscription service that provides software and a high-speed backbone to exchange real-time data between systems, devices and web browsers without exposing the systems or devices to the Internet.
With SkkyHub, industrial and embedded systems can securely network live data in real time from any location. The service enables bidirectional supervisory control, integration and sharing of data with multiple users, and real-time access to selected data sets in a web browser. It can handle over 100,000 data changes per second per client, at speeds just a few milliseconds over Internet latency.
Secure by design, SkkyHub requires no VPN, no open firewall ports, no special programming, and no additional hardware.
How much does SkkyHub cost?
We offer a risk-free 30-day trial, as well as different paid subscription service levels, depending on your usage scenario. Paid service types are priced according to data throughput. Usage is calculated on a daily (24-hour) basis, and billed at the applicable monthly rate for each day. So, for example, an account configured as Basic for 20 days of the month and Standard for 10 days would be billed at the respective rates for the 20 and 10 days.
What do you mean by risk-free 30-day trial?
As a special trial offer to you, after signing up to a Basic or Standard service, you can cancel at any time during the initial 30 days of service (“trial period”) and you will not be charged. If you continue to use SkkyHub after the trial period, you will be billed on the next monthly cycle for services including those used during the trial period. You will be billed or invoiced for any unpaid services up to and including the day of cancellation if you cancel your service after expiry of the trial period.
Which service type should I use?
The Basic service is suitable for proof-of-concept or small commercial applications. Standard and Professional services are suitable for production systems to deliver remote data access, monitoring and supervisory control, site-to-site and embedded device networking. The appropriate service type will depend on the scale of your application. If you unsure of which subscription service to select, contact us.
What is suspended service?
In the administration portal, you have the option to suspend your service. This means you will not be able to tunnel data to SkkyHub or access your data in SkkyHub WebView. You can still administer the account and view billing information, and you can resume the service at any time. Accounts whose service is suspended are billed at a reduced monthly rate.
