SkkyHub™ FAQ

What is SkkyHub?

Skkynet’s SkkyHub™ is a subscription service that provides software and a high-speed backbone to exchange real-time data between systems, devices and web browsers without exposing the systems or devices to the Internet.

With SkkyHub, industrial and embedded systems can securely network live data in real time from any location.  The service enables bidirectional supervisory control, integration and sharing of data with multiple users, and real-time access to selected data sets in a web browser.  It can handle over 50,000 data changes per second per client, at speeds just a few milliseconds over Internet latency.

Secure by design, SkkyHub requires no VPN, no open firewall ports, no special programming, and no additional hardware.

How much does SkkyHub cost?

We offer a risk-free 30-day trial, as well as different paid subscription service levels, depending on your usage scenario.  Paid service types that are suitable for production are priced according to data throughput.  Usage is calculated on a daily (24-hour) basis, and billed at the applicable monthly rate for each day.  So, for example, an account configured as Basic for 20 days of the month and Standard for 10 days would be billed at the respective rates for the 20 and 10 days.

What do you mean by risk-free 30-day trial?

As a special trial offer to you, after signing up to a Basic, Standard or Professional service, you can cancel at any time during the initial 30 days of service (“trial period”) and you will not be charged.  If you continue to use SkkyHub after the trial period, you will be billed on the next monthly cycle for services including those used during the trial period.  You will be billed or invoiced for any unpaid services up to and including the day of cancellation if you cancel your service after expiry of the trial period.

Which service type should I use?

The Basic service is suitable for proof-of-concept or non-commercial applications, and it is limited to one data domain.  Standard, Professional and Enterprise services are suitable for production systems to deliver remote data access, monitoring and supervisory control, site-to-site and embedded device networking.  The appropriate service type will depend on the scale of your application.  If you unsure of which subscription service to select, contact us.

What is an inactive account?

In the administration portal, you have the option to deactivate your service.  A deactivated service cannot push data, but still allows you to maintain all account configuration information, as well as the ability to use the portal to add or modify users, permissions, etc.   Deactivated accounts are billed under the monthly rate for inactive accounts.  This option is not available for the Basic service.
