Andrew S. Thomas, P.Eng, MASc
Andrew Thomas is the CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors of Skkynet. From May 1995 to the present, Andrew has been the founder, President and CEO of Cogent Real-Time Systems, Inc. our wholly-owned subsidiary. Prior to his work at Cogent, Andrew was an independent process control consultant and systems integrator and software developer of real time data communications systems. Mr. Thomas received a Master of Applied Science and B.A.Sc. in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1990 and 1987.
Paul Benford, MASc
Paul Benford is the Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Skkynet. From 1995 to the present, Paul has been the Business Manager of Cogent. Prior to his work at Cogent, from 1992 through 1995, Paul was an independent process control consultant and an applications engineer. Paul received a Master of Applied Science in Mineral Process Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 1993, and a B.Eng. with honors from the Camborne School of Mines in Cornwall, United Kingdom in 1990.
Paul E. Thomas, JD, MASc
Paul Thomas is the President, Secretary and Director of Skkynet. Paul is also Vice President of Intellectual Property for Cogent. From September 2008 to the present, Paul has been the founder and principal of a group of affiliated companies, LifeCycle IP Management, Inc. and LifeCycle Capital Partners, Inc. that are engaged in various IP related businesses including valuations, due diligence, transactions analysis and structuring, strategic partnering and filing and processing IP applications to regulatory authorities. Prior to this, Paul served as lead in-house IP counsel to two pharmaceutical companies, and also practiced in prominent IP litigation firms appearing before the Canadian Federal Court of Appeal.
Lowell Holden is the CFO and Treasurer of Skkynet. Since 1983, Lowell has owned and operated his own consulting firm, LS Enterprises, Inc., which provides business consulting, accounting and other services to businesses. Lowell has a broad range of business experience including managing, securing financing, structuring of transactions, and is experienced in managing relationships with customers, financing institutions and stockholders. Lowell also has a background in assisting companies in fulfilling their financial auditing and SEC reporting requirements. He also serves as CFO for Silverstar Mining, Inc. Mr. Holden received a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 1964.
Mr. Mesrobian is a seasoned sales executive with a strong foundation of focusing on net new business in SaaS business environments. He has direct experience with cutting edge venture-backed software start-ups, and possesses extensive experience in technical sales. Since 2008, Mr. Mesrobian was an Account Development Executive at ADP Inc., Dealer Services Division. Prior to his work at ADP, from 2003 to 2007, he was Director of Product Management and Business Development at Decisiv, Inc., a leading provider of a Service Relationship Management (SRM) platform, and prior thereto he was the Director of Market Development at Novarra Inc., an internet mobility software company. Mr. Mesrobian received a BA from Carleton University in Economics.
Ken Collins, BASc, MBA, PMP, MCPD
Ken Collins is the Director of Product Development for Skkynet. Since 2010, Ken has been the lead architect and systems design consultant to Cogent. For 20 years before that, Ken acted in various consulting capacities (business management, team dynamics, software architecture, and project governance) working with banking and financial systems, knowledge management solutions, business continuity initiatives and several software development projects. Ken earned an MBA from Queen’s University in 2006, and completed Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo in 1987.
Robert M. McIlvride, MA
Bob McIlvride is the Director of Communications at Skkynet. Since 1999 Bob has served as Communications Manager at Cogent, responsible for writing and editing technical documentation and marketing communications, as well as managing sales and distribution channels. He received an MA in Professional Writing in 1986 and a BA in Natural Law (Interdisciplinary Science) in 1984 from Maharishi International University in Fairfield Iowa, and has 15 years experience writing and publishing in the natural gas and process control industries. Bob has lived on three continents, speaks three languages, and considers the whole world as his home.
