Are you a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for an Inside Technical Sales Consultant to drive our sales growth.  As an Inside Technical Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by proactively engaging with prospective customers, understanding their technical requirements, and presenting our innovative solutions, including Cogent DataHub and our Microsoft Azure solutions. Your exceptional communication skills, technical knowledge, and consultative selling approach will be instrumental in expanding our customer base and achieving sales targets.

Reporting to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently, and have strong attention to detail. Experience in B2B and/or experience working with a technology company is a strong asset. The ideal candidate must have strong verbal and written skills in English; multilingual candidates preferred. While this position is remote, only candidates residing in Canada will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Proactive Lead Management: Identify and qualify potential customers through proactive lead generation activities, including warm calling, email campaigns, and leveraging our marketing resources. Utilize various sales techniques to engage and build relationships with prospects, focusing on technical decision-makers.

Consultative Selling: Understand the technical requirements and pain points of prospective customers. Leverage your technical expertise to recommend appropriate solutions that address customer challenges and drive operational efficiency. Use a consultative selling approach to highlight the value proposition of our products and services.

Solution Presentations and Demonstrations: Conduct compelling product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of Cogent DataHub, specific to the customer needs. Adapt your communication style to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Address customer inquiries and concerns, providing clear and concise explanations.

Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and existing customers, acting as their trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle. Understand customer needs, anticipate their requirements, and provide proactive support and guidance.

Sales Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales team to support the development and execution of sales strategies. Provide technical expertise and insights to help shape proposals, pricing, and sales collateral. Coordinate with internal teams, such as engineering, sales and marketing, to ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into feasible solutions. Nurture leads and manage the sales pipeline effectively to drive conversions and achieve sales goals.

Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies related to real-time data integration and industrial automation. Provide feedback to the product management and marketing teams to contribute to product roadmap development and enhance our competitive positioning.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
  • Proven experience in inside sales, technical sales, or related roles, preferably in the software or technology industry.
  • Strong technical background with a solid understanding of real-time data integration, industrial automation, or related domains.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to lead generation and relationship building.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and sales productivity tools.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
